Charlotte Flair and Liv Morgan in the cast of the next film

As WWE Superstars continue to explore Hollywood as a potential avenue once their in-ring careers are over, a new report reveals two of WWE’s top female wrestlers have been cast in a film about a female wrestling trailblazer. .

According to a report by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Charlotte Flair and Liv Morgan have been cast in a new film based on female wrestling pioneer Mildred Burke. The film is based on β€œQueen of the Ring,” a book by Pulitzer Prize winner Jeff Leen.

The film is set to begin filming in Louisville, Kentucky in June. Flair is set to portray June Byers and Morgan is set to play Clara Mortensen.

Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez recently had to forfeit the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship due to an injury Morgan suffered while defending the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship on the May 12 episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

Many wrestling fans were disappointed at the end of WWE WrestleMania 39 when Cody Rhodes was unable to defeat Roman Reigns for the undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

However, the story is not over and Cody Rhodes is still determined to finish his story on his terms.

According to a recent report by WrestleVotes (via GiveMeSport), Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns was potentially on the table for the main event of Wrestlemania 40 in Philadelphia as recently as April 28 of this year.

However, a new report from WRKD Wrestling on Twitter reveals another plan “on the table” for “The American Nightmare”.

According to the tweet, there have been preliminary discussions for Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther to be the Main Event Monday Night RAW of Wrestlemania 40.

Both men reportedly expressed interest in each other. Cody and Gunther were the final two men in the 2023 Royal Rumble, a match that saw Gunther break the record for the longest time ever in a Royal Rumble Match.

Title plans changed due to Mercedes Mone injury

Mercedes Mone, formerly Sasha Banks in WWE, was recently injured in an NJPW STRONG Women’s Title match at NJPW Resurgence. As a result, she was defeated by AEW’s Willow Nightingale in the pay-per-view main event which took place in Long Beach, CA.

New reports suggest that Mercedes was in fact expected to win the title before his injury. Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer reported that Mone was initially booked to win the match, but opted to change plans on the fly after suffering an injury. Mike Johnson of PWInsider also reports that Mercedes was tagged to win the game.

Details on WWE’s new headquarters

As WWE continues to prepare for its new headquarters, Enlighted, a leading proptech company, has announced plans to work with WWE to provide a smart, energy-efficient headquarters. A new press release from Enlighted reveals that WWE will reduce energy costs with the tech company’s occupancy-based lighting control system.
