It’s a great day in the neighborhood to graduate from Harvard – just ask tom hank.
The Oscar winner received an honorary Doctor of Arts degree from Harvard University on May 25 before taking the podium as the 2023 Commencement speaker.
While speaking, Tom joked that, unlike graduates before him, he graduated “without doing a single assignment, without spending any time in class, without ever entering that library”, per People.
“I don’t know much about Latin,” Tom continued at the Tercentenary Theater at Harvard Yard, “I don’t have a real passion for enzymes, and global public policy is something I scan in the newspaper. right before doing the Wordle.”
Jokes aside, Tom, who studied at Chabot College and California State University in Sacramento, delivered a powerful message about standing up to “the indifference of a struggle-weary people.”
