A new key visual for the sugar apple fairy tale anime was released ahead of its upcoming second court, which will begin in July.
Details about the new court’s theme songs have also been released. The opening song is titled “Surprise” and is performed by Rei Nakashima while the ending song is titled “door” and is performed by Nao Touyama. Both songs will be released as singles in July, with “Surprise” on July 19 and “door” on July 26.

Seven Seas Entertainment describes the light novels as follows:
Anne Halford is a candy maker determined to follow in her mother’s footsteps and become a Silver Sugar Master, a title bestowed only by royalty. In order to travel to the capital and fulfill her dream, she buys Challe, a beautiful but rude fairy, as her bodyguard. Anne wishes to befriend her new companion, but in this kingdom where fairies are considered property, Challe wants nothing to do with humans. Will this trip with Anne change his mind…?
The anime is directed by Youhei Suzuki (Kiyo in Kyoto, Million Arthur) with Seishi Minakami (Vatican Examiner of Miracles) as the composer of the series, Haruko Iizuka (Josée, the tiger and the fish, Horimiya) as a character designer, and Hinako Tsubakiyama (Sabikui cookie co-composer) as a music composer. JCSTAFF is the animation production company.
Meanwhile, the cast includes Yuka Nukui like Ann Halford, Masaaki Mizunaka like Shall Fen Shall, Rie Takahashi under the name Mythrill Reid Pod, and Tomoaki Maeno like Hugh Mercury.
THE sugar apple fairy tale the light novels first aired from 2010 to 2017 with 17 volumes (including two short story anthologies), with a new volume released in December 2022. The books are published under the Kadokawa Beans Bunko label. A manga adaptation published by Hakusensha by Aruto Yukimura ran from 2012 to 2014, while a manga published by KADOKAWA by Yozora no Udon began in 2021. Seven Seas publishes the new manga series in English.
