Monica Rambeau: Foton is a new five-issue limited series from writer Eve L. Ewing, artists Luca Maresca and Ivan Fiorelli and colorist Carlos Lopez. An early first look at the first issue in the series saw Monica join Doctor Strange and Wong in the Sanctum Sanctorum for reasons that are still unknown. What is Monica Rambeau: Foton About?
Marvel teases Monica Rambeau: Fotonfirst issue, “Monica visits the Sanctum Sanctorum on behalf of SWORD, who has commissioned her to make a very special, very cosmic delivery. However, in true Super Hero mode, not all is as it seems, and Monica ends up on a new adventure at a very personal stake. …while she deals with the help of a healthy family drama.”
Monica Rambeau: Foton announced in August. While the character currently finds herself reluctantly joining New York City Mayor Luke Cage’s Thunderbolt team led by Clint Barton/Hawkeye (Monica also had the opportunity to lead Thunderbolt but turned it down in 2022). Demon Reign: Omega #1), the new solo series will see him embark on his own cosmic quest into outer space. “It’s an honor to take on the story of a legacy character like Monica Rambeau,” Ewing said previously of the series. “Monica’s character has a long history in the Marvel Universe, but she’s too late to tell her own story. I took the pen from the legend himself, Dwayne McDuffie, who put out Monica Rambeau’s last solo adventure nearly three decades ago. It’s a privilege and I excited to tell his story in a way that highlights his incredible cosmic abilities and his associated everyday struggles. I hope it will be a title that has something on par to offer veteran readers and people who may be new to comics.”
Monica Rambeau: Foton #1 features cover art by Lucas Werneck and variant cover art by Brian Stelfreeze, Norm Breyfogle, Karen S. Darboe, Mateus Manhanini and Peach Momoko. This edition goes on sale December 14th from Marvel.
