The sequel to Taylor Sheridan’s 2017 thriller Wind River has announced several new names to its cast. According to Deadline , Jason Clarke, Scott Eastwood and Chaske Spencer have signed on to star in Wind River: The Next Chapter , which is currently in production in Calgary. However, further details regarding the characters that the three will play have not been revealed.
In his first feature film written and directed by Sheridan, this film follows US Fish & Wildlife agent Cory Lambert (Jeremy Renner) and FBI agent Jane Banner (Elizabeth Olsen) as they investigate the mysterious death of a young woman named Natalie Hanson (Kelsey Asbille). ) on the Wind River reservation, Wyoming. In Wind River: The Next Chapter, the reservation is again rocked by a series of ritual murders. To help solve this case, the FBI enlists the help of Chip Hanson (Martin Sensmeier), Natalie’s brother and a tracker recently recruited by US Fish & Game. Sensmeier is reprising his role from the first film.
Emmy-nominated director Kari Skogland replaces Sheridan in the director’s chair. A seasoned TV director, his work includes The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, The Walking Dead, The Punisher, and The Handmaid’s Tale , the last of which earned him an Emmy award. He will also be directing the upcoming film Cleopatra starring Gal Gadot. Patrick Massett and John Zinman wrote the screenplay for Wind River: The Next Chapter .

Jason Clarke currently stars as Jerry West on the hit HBO series Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty , which was renewed for a second season. He can also be seen in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film, Oppenheimer , which will be released on July 21. Scott Eastwood previously appeared in the Amazon romantic comedy I Want You Back , alongside Gina Rodriguez. In 2020, he starred in the war drama film The Outpost alongside Orlando Bloom and Caleb Landry Jones. He will next appear in the latest film from the Fast And Furious franchise, Fast X , which will be released on May 19. He will also appear in April 29, 1992, a drama that focuses on the riots in LA Meanwhile, Chaske Spencer’s most recent appearance was in the Amazon Prime miniseries entitled The English , starring Emily Blunt. Previously, he also starred in Marvel’s Jessica Jones and Sneaky Pete . He will next be seen in the Marvel series, Echo .
