Black widow star Scarlett Johansson has confirmed that she has no plans to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future.
Johansson joins fellow Marvel alum and actress Gwyneth Paltrow — who plays Pepper Potts — on an episode of The Goop Podcast. The duo discuss their time in the MCU, which leads Paltrow to ask if Johansson sees Marvel returning in her future.
Even though the character of Black Widow died in 2019 Avengers: EndgameJohansson reprises the role for the 2021 prequel Black widow. That avengers star confirmed he was done with the MCU, but noted it was “a very unique experience”.
“I’m done,” Johansson said. “The chapter is over. I did everything I had to do. Also coming back and playing a character time and time again, for over a decade, is a really unique experience,” (via Variety.)
Johansson has played Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow in nine Marvel Studios films. After making his first appearance as a character in Iron Man 2he appeared in Avenger, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: EndgameAnd Black widowwith a cameo appearance in the mid-credits scene Captain Marvel. The actress will next be seen in Wes Anderson Asteroid City.
