Netflix has released a new key visual for the Black Clover: The Witch King’s Sword Animation Film. The visual, drawn by the character designer Itsuko Takedadepicts a confrontation between Asta and the former Wizard King Conrad.
Black Clover: The Witch King’s Sword will premiere on Netflix on June 16. It was originally slated for release on March 31. The film features an original plot overseen by black clover Creator Yuuki Tabatawhich Netflix describes as:
As a lion-hearted boy who can’t wield magic strives for the title of Wizard King, four banished Wizard Kings from long ago return to crush the Clover Kingdom.
The voice cast of former Wizard Kings includes Toshihiko Seki like Konrad, Houchuu Ootsuka like Edward, Miyuki Sawashiro like Princia, and Fumiya Takahashi as a jester. The series’ returning cast includes Gakuto Kajiwara like that Nobunaga Shimazaki like Yuno, Junichi Suwabe like Yami Sukehiro, and It’s Yuki as Noelle Silva.
Meanwhile, staff understand Ayataka Tanemura (black clover Second part, Fuuto PI assistant director) as a director, Johnny then (Black Clover: Yuno no Sho light novel author) and You have Ori as screenwriters and Minako Seki (black clover) as a music composer. Pierrot studio is the animation production studio.
THE black clover the anime series ran from 2017 to 2021 with Tatsuya Yoshihara (Chainsaw Man action director) directing the first half and serving as chief director for the second. The manga published by Shueisha started in 2015 and has 35 tankoubon volumes as of June 2023.
