Prime Video’s popular action drama Reacher has wrapped production on Season 2, the streamer announced via his Twitter account . Fans can’t wait for the second season which started filming in September last year. Based on Lee Child’s best-selling novel Jack Reacher, the series became an instant hit with fans upon its debut and a second season was announced fairly quickly after that.
In the short clip posted by the streamer, actor Alan Ritchson can be seen seen in Reacher’s outfit with blood on his face. Announcing his completion, he said, “I just finished. Reacher Season 2, the final scene has been completed. As you can see, things are getting a little wild. We promise to come back bigger and better than before. And we’re not lying.” He then moved towards the giant board, and said, “We did it Reacher style, this is it to close out the season,” while clapping his hands on the giant board. “It’s officially finished. Season 2 is back bigger and better than ever. We promised, and the proof is in the pudding.”
While the first season was based on the Killing Floor books, the lead actor previously teased that the second season would be based on Bad Luck and Trouble, the eleventh title in the book series. The first season saw Ritchson as an ex-military cop who uses his skills to take down bad guys ranging from corrupt cops to greedy businessmen, but in the second season he will return for revenge. In this season, Reacher will investigate the deaths of his friends from his old military unit.
Previously, Head of Television at Amazon Studios, Vernon Sanders, teased fans to expect this season to air sometime this year. He divulged:
“This is going very well. Alan is back, and he is fantastic in his role. I’m very proud of the producers [for] finding the perfect fit for Reacher. Reacher fans from the book, their reaction to this event was like a dream. Season 2 was amazing. And as great as the first season was, I think season two delivers even more than that, and I think there’s a good chance that the show will return this year.”
Along with regular cast members Luke Bilyk, Dean McKenzie, Edsson Morales, Andres Collantes, Shannon Kook-Chun, Ty Victor Olsson, and Josh Blacker, the second season also adds a new cast to the line-up as well as several guest stars. Serinda Swan, Ferdinand Kingsley, Shaun Sipos, along with Rory Cochrane and guest star Domenick Lombardozzi can be seen in this new season.
