It owes much to the stellar performances of the cast, with Ledger being awarded a posthumous Oscar. The film also tells the story of Harvey Dent, district attorney, as Two-Face. Aaron Eckhart plays the role. Maggie Gyllenhaal plays Rachel, the character she played in the first film’s Katie Holmes. Rachel’s relationship to Dent is also a key plot point.
IMDb gave “The Dark Knight” a 9.0 rating. Rotten Tomatoes gave it 94% freshness and Metacritic called it a “must see” movie. Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy deserves your attention, even if you’re not a fan of superhero movies. The middle film, which is often weakest in a trilogy is actually the best. According to the UK Times, James Christopher said that “Heath Ledger’s Joker is a sensation.” The legend isn’t content with stealing the film; he also murders it with style. You have missed an excellent performance by Ledger as Joker.
1. The Shawshank Redemption (1994)

Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins starred in 1994’s “The Shawshank Redemption,” which was a wonderful film about two men who make a new friendship in prison. Frank Darabont, director, adapted the screenplay of Stephen King’s novella “Rita Hayworth & Shawshank Redemption.” Andy Dufresne, a Robbins prisoner, is sentenced for two life sentences for murdering his wife and lover. Andy then meets Ellis “Red,” Redding (Freeman). Their friendship is a bright spot in two dark decades of men behind bars. Freeman also tells “The Shawshank Redemption”, a story about injustice and friendship, and how one can regain self-respect.
According to Freeman, The Hollywood Reporter: “Most of my memories are that when I read through the script, I didn’t know which character I should read for.” It was Red. I was shocked that they had given me the movie, even though it was Red. It was a character I had never imagined. It has an IMDb score of 9.3 and is currently ranked number one on the IMDb Top 250 Movies. It also has a 91% “fresh score” on Rotten Tomatoes and is a “must see” movie on Metacritic. According to BBC Critic Nev Pierce, “Freeman is in particular exceptional.” Although his performance is not overtly showy, it can be easily overlooked. But it is the heart of ‘Shawshank.
