Where is it headed now in House of the Dragon Season 2?
Think of yourself SPOILER WARNING as you scroll down and find out what o-creator and executive producer Ryan Condal has to say about it…

“The show should definitely expand its scope in season two,” Condal told Variety this week.
“Just as the original Game of Thrones grew in scope and expansion over time, so has ours. We’ve lived quite a bit in three different worlds through this show: King’s Landing, Dragonstone, and Driftmark.
“I think it will continue to be a base for the show. But a war is coming that requires the loyalty of various kingdoms and armies across the map of Westeros.
“I don’t think we’re going to be as big as the original Game of Thrones in its final analysis. But there are definitely more new worlds to come, and new worlds that you didn’t necessarily see in the original show.
“Rest assured, a lot of scope to come.”

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, meanwhile, Condal teased that things will get darker when the drama returns.
“Season 1 is setting the table for a very bloody party to come,” he told EW.
“The reason I want to actually spend our time doing this is because I want everyone to understand who all these characters are and the long history they have behind them — behind their fathers and grandfathers — that got us to the point where they ended up fighting a war. brothers against each other.”

Indeed, there are plenty of men, women, and children to place in Season 1.
But now that this work is done?
“I’m really interested in learning about all the characters we’ve been introduced to, especially the Rhaenyra and Alicent families, and seeing what happens now that we flip the chessboard and spill the pieces on the ground, Condal continues on to EW.
“How did they all react?
“That’s the story we tell in season 2 and beyond.”

The new episode of House of the Dragon will begin shooting in 2023, though we can’t say for sure when exactly it will air.
In conclusion, the producers previewed that Season 2 “doesn’t fall into the ensemble part where you follow multiple characters.
“They’re not all in the same place, but it’s still a story about Alicent and Rhaenyra and their families being pitted against each other. We will not suddenly withdraw from telling their story.
“That’s just the nature of this thing, in season 2, it really opened up the world massively and the sprawl grew a little bit.”
