Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett Good Omens: The Beautiful and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch is turned into a graphic novel by Colleen Doran.
On May 24, Gaiman tweeted, “DRUMBOLLS PLEASE: just as Agnes Nutter prophesied. Good Omens, the official (and ineffable) graphic novel, adapted by [Colleen Doran]launches exclusively via [Kickstarter] this summer.” The Kickstarter page, created by The Terry Pratchett Estate, further explains, “The enjoyable and accurate adaptation based on the world-renowned book by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, adapted by Colleen Doran.”
Doran has worked with Gaiman projects in the past, illustrating parts of The sand man (Thessaly’s character is based on Doran’s appearance) and won the Bram Stoker Award for Superior Achievement in a Graphic Novel in 2019 for his graphic novel adaptation of Gaiman’s Snow, Glass, Apples, among other examples. On May 24, Doran tweeted, “For your enjoyment, the original line art of the cover [for Good Omens: the Official (and ineffable) Graphic Novel] is currently exhibited at [Society Illustrators] Exhibition of the museum HERE, and this for more than a month. No one guessed that it was an official coin. Because we lied and said it was a private order.”
TV adaptation of Good Omens gets a second season
Written by Gaiman and Pratchett, Good Omens: The Beautiful and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch was published in 1990. The story follows an angel, Aziraphale, and a demon, Crowley, who have both lived on Earth since its creation and have struck up an unusual kind of friendship. Although they go against direct orders from their respective supervisors, the two must ultimately work together to prevent the end of the world after the birth of the Antichrist.
A TV adaptation of good omens premiered on Prime Video in 2019. Gaiman serves as showrunner on the series, which stars Michael Sheen as Aziraphale and David Tennant as Crowley. On May 10, the good omens The Twitter account announced that the second season of the series will air on July 28, 2023.
