I’ve never been happier than when the temperature finally drops and the fall colors come alive every time you step outside. But even though the start of autumn marks the start of the holiday season, the real joy of this year comes from all the fashion trends that are starting to emerge to cater for the transitional weather. The 2022 street style fall trend is taking over my Instagram feed and shopping cart, and I think I’ve finally narrowed down the top three trends I’ve seen that I’m obsessed with.
Of course, there are lots of blacks, which I like. Some things never change, even like the seasons. But color is not the star of the trend in question here. It’s more about details. Think: New changes to things that are already in style for fall, like slouchy pants, leather bags, and T-shirts. Here are my favorite street style fall trends right now, and how to style them with IRL.
Leather Bags That Look Like Leather Jackets

Have you ever seen a more beautiful and perfect bag? I have to say, this Rebecca Minkoff bag unexpectedly makes perfect last night’s bag. You can actually include a dress change here and still have more room to give. I think it’s perfect for a day out on the town too, and would still make the perfect everyday briefcase. I just took it to the coffee shop and my 13-inch Macbook fits perfectly in it.
Features like leather tassels and endless zippered compartments give this bag the feel of a Balenciaga Le Cargole bag without the $2,000+ price tag. It even comes in a mini size if you think it’s too big. It’s like holding your favorite leather jacket in your arms and being able to store all your essentials in it at the same time.
2. Cut-out Lightweight Pants

I think these loose cut pants are the perfect transition pants for fall. It’s easy to find cut-out pants online, but a lot of them are tight, which really complements the casual look I’m wearing these days.
I’m wearing the Alo mid-rise showdown pants here, which are currently sold out, but there are several similar models online. The reason I love the Alo style so much is because of the material. It’s not a sticky legging material, so I find it less awkward with the cut. It’s like a windbreak; loose without being loose. I found a similar style for sale and available in Dolls Kill below.
3. Shirt Cut Fit

This has to be my favorite trend by far. I’m a perpetual crop top girl and love the fitted look of this half zip pullover from Aerie. It’s the perfect rock wash gray, and I love that it has a “corset” bottom, which is basically like an elastic waistband that gives the casual t-shirt a more blended feel. Plus the thumb hole makes it feel extra comfortable. Aerie really never misses out. You can pick this up in a few different colors too. Of course I also wore Aerie’s super flare leggings here. At this point they are basically like a second skin.
