One of the series most anticipated by fans of author Taylor Jenkins Reid, “Daisy Jones & The Six” premieres this Friday (3) on Prime Video, Amazon. The production is based on the famous book of the same name released in 2019, which tells the story of a fictional band that was successful in the 1970s.
The series will have ten episodes in total, which will be released weekly (2-3 at a time) on the streaming platform until March 24th. The cast features Riley Keough, granddaughter of star Elvis Presley, in the role of vocalist Daisy. And Sam Claflin brings Billy Dunne to life.
The series is from producer Hello Sunshine, which is owned by renowned actress Reese Witherspoon and has launched other hits on American TV, such as the series “Big little lies”, “The Morning Show” and “Surface”.
Another curiosity about “Daisy Jones & The Six” is that, despite being a fictional band, the group’s songs will actually be recorded by the actors and made available on audio platforms. In addition, an album with the official songs will be produced along with the release of the chapters of the series.
The best-selling book that inspired the series follows the group’s journey from their meteoric rise on the Los Angeles music scene to their unexpected split at the height of their popularity. It features the story of Daisy, an 18-year-old girl who always dreamed of being a rock star and lives a conflicted love relationship with musician Billy Dunne.
The book will even be re-released in a limited edition with a special cover from the Prime Video series. It is already possible to purchase it on pre-order.
