Stephen Colbert announced the news on November 7, revealing the hot cover of the magazine’s annual issue, during CBS’ Late Show. He introduced the winner as “Hollywood movie star and shining supernova, Chris Evans!”
Stephen plays a clip of Chris on the set of the upcoming film, where he receives the honor of a former title holder Dwayne Johnson.
“It means a lot to come from the former Sexiest Man Alive,” Chris told The Rock, who replied, “What do you mean?”
Chris, wearing a sash for his achievement, replied, “Thanks for the support as the former Sexiest Man, it means a lot.”
“I never gave up the title,” said Dwayne. “I’m the Sexiest Man Alive forever, which means a lifetime… Let me ask you, brother. Am I alive? I’m still alive. Am I still hot? You bet your sexy mouth is me.”
