A new Burn The Witch anime, titled Burn The Witch #0.8, has been announced with a teaser trailer.
Burn The Witch #0.8 is described as an adaptation of Burn The Witch‘s prequel story. Director Tasurou Kawano and Studio Colorido’s Team Yamahitsuji are returning from the 2020 movie.
Also reprising their roles are voice actors Asami Tano (Ninny Spangcole), Yuina Yamada (Noel Niihashi), Shinba Tsuchiya (Balgo Ywain Parks), Hiroaki Hirata (Chief), and Rie Hikisaka (Osushi Chan).
Burn The Witch was first conceived as a one-shot, published in 2018 in the 50th anniversary issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump, by Bleach‘s Tite Kubo. It later received a short serialization in 2020, dubbed as “Season 1,” that was compiled into one tankoubon volume. The manga is set in the same universe as Bleach but takes place in London.
Crunchyroll describes the 2020 anime movie, which it streams in a three-episode format, as:
Historically 72% of all the deaths in London are related to dragons, fantastical beings invisible to the majority of the people. While unknown to most, some people have been standing up to these dragons. Only inhabitants of Reverse London who live in the hidden “reverse” side of London can see the dragons. The protagonists of the story are witch duo Noel Niihashi and Ninny Spangcole. They are protection agents for Wing Bind. Their mission is to protect and manage the dragons within London on behalf of the people.
