Orion Pictures released the first official Down poster for his upcoming steamy teen comedy, starring Rachel Sennott of Bodies Bodies Bodies and Ayo Edebiri of The Bear. The film had its world premiere at the 2023 SXSW Film Festival and is set to arrive in select theaters on August 25.
The poster is a callback to The Breakfast Club’s signature group photo from 1985, featuring Sennott and Edebiri. It also provides a first look at the rest of the main cast, including Kaia Gerber and Havana Liu Rose.
Who is involved in the stockings?
Bottoms is directed by Emma Seligman from a screenplay she co-wrote with Sennott. They previously worked together in Seligman’s 2020 debut, Shiva Baby. The film stars Rachel Sennott, Ayo Edebiri, Havana Rose Liu, Kaia Gerber, Nicholas Galitzine, with Dagmara Dominczyk and Marshawn Lynch.
“A unique and refreshing steamy comedy, the film centers on two girls, PJ and Josie, who start a fight club to lose their virginity to cheerleaders. Their bizarre plan is working,” reads the synopsis. “The fight club gains traction and soon the most popular girls in the school are fighting in the name of self-defense. But PJ and Josie find themselves in over their heads and need a way out before their plan is exposed.
The R-rated film is produced by Elizabeth Banks, Max Handelman and Alison Small, with Ted Deiker serving as executive producer. It will also feature music from Charli XCX and Leo Birenberg.
