New visual and voice drama has been revealed for the upcoming original anime AYAKA, featuring the characters Aka, Ibara and Makita. The anime series is set to premiere in July 2023.
The New Voice Drama Video Features Kana Hanazawa like two-tailed Ibara Ichijou, Jun Fukuyama like Taihei Makita, and Yuuichiro Umehara like Aka Ibuki. The first two characters appeared in a new trailer for AYAKA earlier this month and are members of Ayaka Security, an organization run by Aka that deals with entities called Aramitama.
Shinto priest Haruaki Kurama and his students, Chataro Fukuwake and Yako Amano, also received a similar visual and vocal drama this past April.
The anime’s production team includes Nobuyoshi Nagayama (love flops) as a director, GoRA (K series) as a screenwriter and scriptwriter of series, Misaki Kaneko (Smile on the track) as a character designer, and Kana Shibue (Sasaki and Miyano) as a music composer. White Workshop. handles animation production for the anime.
Meanwhile, the anime’s voice cast includes Yuuto Uemura like Yukito Yanagi, Takuma Terashima like Jingi Sagawa, Kousuke Toriumi like Haruaki Kurama, Gakuto Kajiwara like Chataro Fukuwake, and Yuuki Sakakihara like Yako Amano. Takahiro Sakurai was originally the voice of Haruaki, but was replaced by Toriumi in February.
Crunchyroll will stream AYAKA worldwide, outside of Japan, and describes the synopsis as follows:
The story follows Yukito Yanagi, an orphan who one day meets an eccentric follower of his father. The strange man takes him to his birthplace in Ayakajima, which is made up of seven islands where mysterious beings called “Mitama” and dragons are said to reside. There, Yukito meets his father’s other two disciples, who are protecting Ayakajima’s harmony… which soon threatens to collapse.
