Alan Ritchson Explains How Keanu Reeves Almost Had a Role in Fast X

Keanu Reeves is one of Hollywood’s top action stars, so it makes sense that the Fast & Furious franchise would be interested in bringing in the John Wick star. Alan Ritchson, who plays Aimes in Fast X, revealed that Reeves almost played a part in the latest Quick movie.

Who did Keanu Reeves almost play with in Fast X?

While speaking with EW, Ritchson explained that when he got the call to play Aimes, the studio first wanted Reeves to star in the same role.

“It was just a little fluke and good timing,” Ritchson explained. “I was working on a movie with Hilary Swank in freezing cold Winnipeg, and I got a call that things had changed in plans with Keanu Reeves, who I think was originally intended to play me. Difficult to follow.

Plans shifted to Ritchson when Reeves was no longer involved with the film. Even then, “timing issues” nearly cost Ritchson the part, but in Reacher’s star, he eventually got the part.

“Basically the deal was that if there were no issues we weren’t closing for COVID or the weather, it should work, and about two weeks later we found out we were going to be impacted by biggest blizzard in Winnipeg’s history,” said Richson. “All production has been stopped. It was discouraging. I thought it was over before it started, but luckily we found a solution and they were able to push the dates back a bit more… So I’m very grateful that it worked out.

Ritchson stars as Aimes, the head of Mr. Nobody’s agency tasked with bringing down Dominic Toretto and his crew. Directed by Louis Leterrier, Fast X opened on May 19. In its opening weekend, the film earned $67.5 million domestically and $251.4 million overseas, bringing its total to $319 million.
